The Inaugural Crabtree Property Group Charity Golf Day
The course was set for a round of intense golfing action at the beautiful Dyrham Park Golf Club in Hertfordshire on 1st September 2011 as The Crabtree Property Group put on a charity golf event, held in glorious sunshine in order to raise money for The North London Hospice.
Representatives from both Moretons and Crabtree PM Limited hosted the event and invited various business associates from the property sector to take part. Teams of three and four were chosen and they took on the full 18-hole course with various prizes on offer. Preferred suppliers of The Crabtree Property Group were invited to sponsor a hole to raise more money.
There was much talk of who would get their hands on the big prizes on offer. The keys to a brand new Volkswagen Scirocco awaited anybody who had the unlikely fortune of scoring a hole-in-one on the 14th hole. Unfortunately for the contestants, no one managed the feat and the chance of winning the shiny new vehicle slipped by the golfers.
Indeed, it was not to be a lucky day for the club wielding property people. The second and third prizes - golfing holidays to Portugal and the Belfry - would go to the contestant who managed a hole-in-one on the 4th and 8th hole respectively. Alas, this also proved to be a test too far for those present and the unfortunate contestants would have to wait for a dream golfing holiday a little longer.
A prize was also on offer for the longest drive on the 13th hole and for getting nearest to the pin on the 5th hole. While the longest drive prize was won, amazingly, no golfer landed on the green to claim the nearest the pin prize.
In spite of the difficult course the day was enjoyed by all and The Crabtree Group are delighted to announce that a cheque for £2,500 was presented to the North London Hospice on the night.
The North London Hospice helps people to live with a potentially life-limiting illness providing emotional, spiritual and practical support to them, their families, friends and carers.
Their vision is that everyone living in the London Boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey should receive the specialist palliative care (including practical, spiritual and emotional support) that they require to minimise their symptoms, maximise their quality of life and to live and die with dignity in the surroundings of their choice.
